GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) exam is an All-India based examination organised and conducted by IISc, Bangalore and seven other IIT’s in eight zones across India on behalf of the National Coordinating Board (NCB), Department of Education and Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). GATE Exam is conducted for admissions in Masters in Technology (M.Tech), Master of Engineering (ME), and direct PhD programs with financial aid. All top level educational institutions like Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and other state level institutes/universities accept GATE scores. Some of the internationally famous institutions in Singapore and Germany are also accepting GATE score for admission in post-graduate programs in many disciplines.
A good GATE score also helps students to stand out from the crowd in the selection process of many public sector organisations (PSUs) across India. NTPC, BHEL, BSNL, ONGC, GAIL, HPCL, PGCIL, HPCL, DRDO, NHPC, BARC, etc. Conduct the selection process on the basis of GATE scores. There will be 29 subject papers in GATE 2022 and it is a computer based test (CBT). GATE score is valid for 3 years from the date of announcement of the score.
Eligibility:

GATE 2022 application procedure
Registration: Firstly every candidate needs to register through GOAPS portal by proving the required details.
Form fill up: After registration, candidates need to login and provide all the required personal and academic details. They also required to select GATE paper(s) and preferred exam center.
Upload documents: Candidates also need to upload the required documents like signature, photograph and degree certificates listed below.
Payments: Lastly candidates have to pay the application fee according to the category.

Required documents for GATE 2022
Candidates of GATE 2022 have to upload few documents in support of their candidature.
Candidates must submit their degree certificate/provisional degree certificate/course completion certificate/membership certificate as issued by the responsible authorities. If any candidate is going to finish his/her degree in 2022 or later, then he/she should furnish their Provisional Certificate Letter (as issued by the Head of the Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Department) or a copy of the marks card for Section A of AMIE, etc.
Candidates belonging to PwD (Persons with Disabilities) category need to upload a PwD certificate issued by a concerned authority. Candidates having minimum of 40% impairment irrespective of the kind of disability will receive concession in the application fee. At the time of admission the GATE qualified candidates have to furnish the certificate at the allotted institution.
Candidates having any backlogs (failed subjects) in the subjects in their qualifying exams need to upload the copy of the mark sheet of the final year issued by the institute. Downloaded mark sheet will not be accepted under any circumstances.
SC/ST category candidates will have to upload a valid document in order to avail the concession.
Dyslexic candidates have to submit a certificate stating the same issued by the concerned authorities in order to get the services of a scribe.
